A Debut Celebration with Andrea Campos: 'Tis the Season for Tamales

Come celebrate a Chicago original as author-illustrator Andrea Campos marks the debut of her very first book, 'Tis the Season for Tamales, with an afternoon of stories, community, and the kind of warmth that feels like a kitchen full of family. We're gathering at the Chingonas y Cultura Hispanic Heritage Market at Vjosa Cafe, surrounded by the makers and creators who carry our culture forward. There is something special about watching one of our own see her words and pictures become a real book on a real shelf, and we'd love for you and your little ones to be in the room when it happens, cheering her on and taking home a story rooted in a tradition so many of our families know by heart.

La autora e ilustradora Andrea Campos presenta su primer libro, 'Tis the Season for Tamales, en una tarde de cuentos y comunidad, con ese calorcito que se siente cuando la cocina está llena de familia. Nos reunimos en el Chingonas y Cultura Hispanic Heritage Market en Vjosa Cafe, rodeados de artistas y creadoras que mantienen viva nuestra cultura. Hay algo muy especial en ver a una de las nuestras convertir sus palabras y sus dibujos en un libro de verdad. Nos encantaría que ustedes y sus pequeños estuvieran ahí para echarle porras y llevarse a casa una historia nacida de una tradición que tantas de nuestras familias conocen de memoria.
